Hot Potatoes Fabric and Wall Stamps

Valentine Flag book

This spectacular book was made by MaryAnne Rhodes. I could not believe that I was able to create one of these my myself.

Materials:

	Heart Throb F507
	Heart Attack F 506
	Pacemaker F505
	Book Board
	Beaded Fringe
	PVA Glue
	Ivory card stock for accordion 5 3/8 x 9.5 cut from 12x12 paper to cut the 9.5
	Coordinate 3 colors dye inks with paper color choices. (Adirondack Cranberry, Lettuce, and Expresso dye inks were used for this sample)
	Card stock to match ink color choices
	Hot Potatoes beaded fringe 5 inches of 3/8inch ribbon
	One yard of 3/8 inch ribbon for book ties

Cut book boards to 3" x 5.5"; cover with printed paper. Use a metal straght edge and a sharp Xacto Blade to do this and use caution with the sharp blade.

Fold accordion: Score 1" on both ends of 9.5" length, that has been cut on the grain of the paper.

Score 10 sections between the 2: 1" sections, each .75", for the accordion. Fold and press each section well with a pressing tool such as a bone folder.

Stamp 15 hearts on ivory card stock, stamping 5 alike hearts on each of the three colors. Tip: Colored pencils can help to fill in blank spaces after stamping.

Cut out the hearts with scissors.

Cut 15: 1 5/8" squares from colored card stock and attach hearts to opposite color squares.

Add section of beaded fringe to center of front book cover, securing on the back and adding a piece of ribbon across the fringe ribbon. Tip: beads are attached with one continuous thread, so be careful when cutting.

Center and add ribbon on inside of front and back book covers, having even with ribbon and fringe across the front of the book. The book will be tied on both sides.

Attach front and back 1" sections of accordion to book boards, .25" from edge.

Add inside cover paper to front and back book boards. Cut approximately 5 7/16" x 2.75".

Attach 3 heart/squares to each accordion: first attach top and bottom squares facing to the left and the center square facing to the right. Continue across the accordion.

When the book is opened, the heart flags will all be visible.
